Supporting Cancer Patients in Northwest CT

The Cancer Care Fund of the Litchfield Hills, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization created to assist and support cancer patients who reside in or are receiving care in northwest Connecticut. The Fund supports cancer patients with care, treatment, education, and prevention programs. It awards financial assistance to patients for emergencies such as food, rent, transportation, utilities, medications, or other emergent needs, as determined by clinicians or case managers.

The Fund was started in 2003 and was formally incorporated in 2004. It was made possible by generous donations from families and patients cared for at The Center for Cancer Care and The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, which are both located in Torrington, CT. It is overseen by a broad-based community Board of Directors that administers the fund, which is managed by The Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut.

How We Help Cancer Patients

We provide care, treatment, education and prevention.

The Center for Cancer Care Fund, Inc. sponsors the above Complementary Therapies for the well being of cancer patients and their families. Complementary therapies are supportive measures that can be used along with conventional medical treatment. The integrative approach combines modern science with the wisdom of ancient healing interventions for a whole-body approach to healing. These therapies alone are neither a replacement nor a a substitute for traditional care.
